Very prompt response, seller emailed me a very polite note shortly after payment to thank me and confirm postage, and I received the item a few days later. A nice surprise was to receive a silver cloth with the necklace. Very pleased with the service.

Beutifull book, well photographed with lots of new ideas. You'll love it.
Beutifully photographed, with clear step by step instuctions. A great source of inspiration and ideas. On my first pickup I learnt two new techniques that i have never thought of. It includes a comprehensive section on the tools alsong with basic techniques. The book then goes throug lots of beutifull projects, each one demonstrating a simple technique. the book is clearly written and not too technical. colour photos guide you through everything. As with myself you will find youself taking the ideas and usng theminyour own designs.

Surprisingly good quality
for the price i wasn't expecting much. but the box is very solid and well made with neat edges. the lid is glass, not plastic and the interior is finished to a nice standard. i have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone with a shop or stall.

Style and affordability
The MiniMax drive I have is one of the earlier ones. As such, it has USB; later models have usb and firewire 400. In reality, there shouldn’t be much speed difference, but firewire may be slightly quicker over a long period. The unit sits on top of my Mac mini and complements it perfectly. Set up was a breeze. I formatted it into two partitions using Disc manager. As soon as it was formatted, the Mac actually asked me if I wanted to use it with time machine and that’s that. You don’t need to have the drive turned on all the time, but when you do the Mac will use it to backup all your data using the built in time machine software. I also use a free utility called "File Sync" for the Mac, which simply copies files across my network from my PC to the Iomega drive on the Mac acting as a backup for my PC too. In use the little "i" logo on the unit flashes. The instructions say to place it underneath the Mac mini. I presume this is so that it does not block the wi-fi or Bluetooth signals. However, with sustained use, the drive does get very warm, as does the bottom of the Mac (where the processor is). So putting the drive underneath does generate considerable heat in between the units, with is in turn being sucked up into the Mac. This didn’t seem like a good idea to me. I place the drive on top, allowing the heat from the drive to disperse and allowing the Mac to draw in cool air from the desktop underneath. This also gives better access to the three usb ports on the back of the drive. (Alternatively, firewire on the later models). If the drive was underneath the Mac mini, then by the time you add the Macs’ power, video, audio, keyboard and mouse, then there’s no way you are going to get access to the drives extra ports under all those cables. Personally, my Mac is using Ethernet, via a cable. Therefore, I can’t comment on weather this arrangement would interfere with the wireless signal, but the drive is certainly cooler and easier to get to (and switch on and off at the rear) If you have a Mac mini and are looking for a time machine to back up, then these Iomega drives offer style and affordability. Much cheaper than Apples own branded "time machine drives" which lets face it are the exact same thing. If you need to upgrade the drive, all you need is a Philips screwdriver. Note too that Lacie also make something similar which is available empty, to fit your own drive. I paid £45 for a 350GB model; including postage (can be up to £15). Therefore, for around £30 I have a stylish and automatic backup system for my Mac and my PC. – Bargain! At the time of writing April 2010, expect to pay up to £100 for a 1TB model and about £50 for a 500 GB. If you think £10 per 100GB that’s about the current price. However, as drives get bigger the price will inevitably get cheaper.
