A good book on modern applications for knots in a full range of rope materials.
It describes a range of useful knots especially those suitable for modern synthetic ropes which offer less friction than hemp, coir, sisal and cotton. Traditional knots do not always work well with synthetics.
I would rate this one of the best knotting books out of the ten I own
However, some of the photographs are not as clear as a diagram would be and need close scrutiny.

A gripping children's adventure story in the tradition of Arthur Ransome's Swallows and Amazons plus Treasure Island and Coral Island. It also gives good advice on seamanship on the way.
