Ruby & The Romantics ~ There Day Has Come
This CD is a joy beginning to end. I knew "Our Day Will Come," but had no idea they recorded so many other songs. The cover versions of songs from the American Songbook are pleasing to the ear. Nice arrangements, smooth harmony and the clear voice of Ruby Nash. I can't recommend it enough. Even if you are not a fan of groups from this era you'll find many gems here.
Songs from American Songbook: "P.S. I Love You," "Moonglow," "Imagination," "Time After Time" and "How Deep is the Ocean" are a few.

The One & Only Virginia O'Brien
In order to create a collection of Virginia O'Brien songs you have to buy the soundtracks of the movies she was in: Du Barry Was A Lady, The Harvey Girls, Lady Be Good, Panama Hattie, Ship Ahoy, Two Girls and a Sailor and Ziegfeld Follies are a few that are on CD. Du Barry Was A Lady gives you one of her greatest (funniest) solos, "Salome"! It's fun to listen to, but even better to see... so I would buy the DVD too (or search Virginia O'Brien on YouTube).
