Beautiful coffee-table book, but also informative!
This large-format hardback has a slightly pillowy exterior, which is fun to press a little. Its graphics and pictures are homey, innocent, and comforting, geared to bring a smile to your face. The layout and design are easy on the eyes, and they actually foster the feeling that you the reader are having fun, as though you were a child again, sledding down a snowy hill for the first time.
The seasonal month-orientation organizational principle helps readers quickly find the topic they may be seeking. I bought it for its beauty, but I found it full of VERY HANDY practical information and tips! Emergency home remedies, cooking and shopping tips, and simple answers that have almost been lost over the generations as we have become ever more sophisticated and less self- and neighbor-reliant.
I hope that others will be able to find a copy of this book. It appears to be a family labor of love . . . and this is a talented family!
