Quality is very poor
Very poor quality makes it nearly useless. Battery life is extremely short. Time stamp does not work. Playback only works occasional. Very poor instructions.

Too strong tension
1 von 2 finden das hilfreich The cluth handle pull is now so hard that I have to shift into neutral if stopped for more than a few seconds. Launch is very harsh, with a too small engagement range. I much prefered the OEM spring operation, but it was wearing out and allowing high gear slipping. I should have replaced it with an OEM spring, and maybe some judges washers.

Run with the big dogs. UPDATED July 2012
13 von 13 finden das hilfreich I wanted to move up to a big cruiser from a 750 Shadow. I wanted something that doesn't leave you wishing you had more power, gears, features, etc. After months of looking and reading, I chose the Nomad by Kawasaki. The Nomad comes with everything you need to get out on the highway and run with the big dogs. A great list of standard accessories, and some nice features like the neutral finder, clock and gas guages, and fuel injection. I was worried the bike might feel too big, being about 750 lbs, but it handles great and has great power, ride, controls, and brakes. It's the first bike I've ever driven thet doesn't leave you looking for 6th gear, even though power is less that might be expected from a 1500 FI. This is though, a cruiser, and not a bullet bike.
I love the classic styling with the oversized windshield and headlight, the swept fenders, and the hard bags. Great looking, but also functional. I've driven at 60+ mph with a baseball cap on, and with the Honda, it would have blown off before 30 mph.
Get a Nomad, and next year you won't be wishing you had a better bike.
FOLLOW UP: I have now had this bike for over 5 years and still love it. Odometer now is at 54000 mi. NO mechanical problems. I have riden in 16 US states and 2 Provinces. Cruiser magazine says it is the bike that BEATS the Road King. I totally agree! I don't run with the big dogs, They run with ME.
