Heaven's Gate BLU-RAY High Definition CRITERION COLLECTION 2-Disc Set

    Sometimes the critics are wrong
I remember the controversy over this film, and I loved the film. It's not exactly as the critics put it. No longer is this the failure that they called it and the controversy over the budget and Cimino's directorial style have long erroded. I think that pre-negativity went a long way toward giving this film negative reviews overall. It is beautifully filmed and, as I recall, the story was engaging. It is worth a watch, especially now since the prejudice is long past. The film should be viewed on it's own merits. Stellar cast.

PHILIPS PD9030 9" RECHARGEABLE PORTABLE DVD PLAYER DivX USB PLAYBACK CAR MOUNT

    Excellent
I've bought two of these and they have worked perfectly -- one for years. In the U.S. most DVD players (the ones I have) only play region 1. But, I watch more European film than U.S. And so I can take one of these anywhere and I'm free to buy any other region film. They are portable and convenient.

    Unusual Series for Broadcast TV
Well before it's time. A corporate attorney is assigned to work for Children's Legal Services, something he is not emotionally or legally prepared to do -- not to mention he is not comfortable with children and has a defensive approach with people. The series is dark at times. Like life, there are not always happy endings, and life is not always fair to parents and children -- not even to wealthy Nick Fallin. In the meantime, the attorney is stressed by both his new responsibilities and the responsibilities of his corporate firm -- and little time to do it all. He also has intimacy issues of his own. I must add that I enjoyed this portrayal by Simon Baker more than his portrayal in The Mentalist. There's come great acting here -- much more diversified characterization. Alan Rosenberg as his boss at Childrens' Legal Services, Dabney Coleman as his corporate boss (and his father), Charles Malik Whitfield as another Children's attorney and Raphael Sbarge as a somewhat smarmy attorney at the father's firm -- and the clientele that cross paths with Nick Fallin as he negotiates the legal system and his confused and stressful life.
