Great Handel!
This is one of Handel's most engaging oratorios --- although it is now usually presented as an opera. This production has Phillipe Jarousky as the Roman soldier who falls in love with Theodora, and who goes to his death with her. It's a big role for a counter tenor - David Daniels starred in this a few years ago in a production staged by Peter Sellars. I really like Phillipe Jarousky, but the overall production (at Glynbourne) by Sellars was more exciting. I am happy to have DVDs of both productions.
