Worth what you pay for it.
Let's face it, it's mostly plastic, it works, and it's inexpensive. Figure on replacing it in five or six years when the contacts weld together, and it either won't start the defrost or it won't stop it. Buy two so you'll have a replacement when you need it.

Good value for money.
Bought this because I broke the flask for my Bodum. The whole thing cost substantially less than a replacement flask, and so far as I can tell, it's made just as well as the Bodum. Furthermore, the flask is interchangeable with the Bodum.

It's OK if it's cheap
The backlight is absurdly bright, even on the low setting. It's so bright that all of the LCD elements that are not currently in use (the year, alarm indicator, DST indicator and snooze indicator) show anyway. You can use it as a nightligh!.The viewing angle is very limited, much more so than most LCD displays. Off-axis you see a blue rectangle. Can't say anything about the auto-setting capability because none of my auto-setting clocks work in my location - too much interference I suppose. I plan to add a resistor to decrease the brightness. It's an OK value for what I paid, but there are better choices available.
