John Wayne at his best

John Wayne fan from way back, this is one of my favorites. John Wayne represents the common man soldier who struggled up through life to the rank of colonel in the cavalry—known for getting the job done with grit and determination. Enter William Holden’s doctor and foil. John Wayne didn’t want a doctor along and chafed at every medical decision. Their dynamic makes the story even more interesting. See if you agree that the romance at the end seemed a funny....but I guess if there is a woman around there has to be a romantic twist. Great flick.
