The author puts you in besieged Leningrad.
For anyone interested in World War Two military history, especially Hitler's Russian Campaigns, this book has it all. The author uses numerous primary sources including interviews with surviving soldiers and civilians who endured the siege of Leningrad, Russian and German documents and numerous period images (drawn and photographed). Especially enlightening are the methods employed by desparate city inhabitants to ward off starvation and the heroic efforts of numerous unselfish people when the world was crumbling around them.
This book shows the horrors of war along with human nature at its best and its worst. A wonderful read. I relished reading this book. Mr. Jones is at the top of his game.

Dollyrots ROCK!
Like Bob Seger sang, "Rock and Roll Never Forgets". Garage rock is alive and well on this CD. Kelly Ogden's voice is a veritable delight to the listener's ears, whether she's tackling a rocker or a slower ballad. Her husband's guitar work and the drummer's solid sledge hammer beat help make this a memorable compilation. The Dollyrots are an awesome underrated band. Highly recommended!!

Andersonville A Child's Perspective
The author tells the story and background of Andersonville Prison so a child can better understand what really happened there in 1864 & 1865. Recommended for younger homeschoolers. Lee J.
