Van Der Graff Gen.- The Quiet Zone/The Pleasure Dome
This was my first expirience with Van Der Graaf Generator. I read about them on a website dedicated to Progressive Rock music. This CD is very unique and very listenable while at the same time being complex and subtle at the same time. Excellant lyrics and composition. Peter Hammill, the leader of the group, is in a very different world. Guy Evans, the talented drumer , Graham Smith the exquisite violin player, and Nic Potter, the perfect bass player complete the sound of this one of a kind band. There is nothing like them. I have subsequently bought their other CDs and love all of them. This is different from their other CDs. The is a violin player. All the other CDs have a sax/flute player instead. He's very good too!
