A good reader AND read-aloud
An engaging adventure for all ages (though I most recommend for late elementary reading). Lots of wordplay and a gentle means of building both vocabulary and grammar skills. The story is full of humor and is well-paced.

Better than most childrens' Bibles I've seen
An excellent Bible for young children! The translation is good, but also new enough that the language used is not archaic. The pictures are realistic rather than cartoonish, which is refreshing in a children's Bible. Some of the best-known stories have multiple levels of abridgement along with the actual text, as a read-aloud aid for parents. My five-year-old loves her copy!

Not what I expected, but still good.
While I expected a book of children's poems with some teaching instruction, this book actually only has a few poems in it. Each poem has two pages of teaching instructions to go along with it. There are also pages with copy-and-cut-out activities. Not a bad purchase.
