Does the job
The boss has done what I wanted and has sealed okay. However I cut a 38mm diameter hole in the downpipe which was not quite big enough to insert the boss. So I filed the hole a fraction larger to ease insertion. It is now solvent welded in place and does not leak.

Works well
I used this to replace a thermostat which was in a hall close to a radiator. I placed the receiver where the old thermostat was. I had to connect the live and the common with a link wire. I followed the instructions to set up the programme which I found easy to follow. Placed the thermostat in the living room. It took a couple of days before we got the temperature set to the right level. Is now working very well. Recommended.

Mafell jigsaw blades
These blades will only fit a Mafell jigsaw. They are thick which means they will cut straight and not wander as thinner jigsaw blades do. Excellent when you need a square edge. Have used for sink and hob cut outs in 38mm worktop with no problems.
