Had to buy it because of Reds, original movie. Has some very humorous lines thrown in to make you laugh.
The plot is not to my liking but my son does. Bought it for him mostly. Price did not hurt my budget and this is why I purchased it for him.

Don't understand why "Hate" was used? Love this series!
The reason I purchased this DVD series Is because it is a wonderful comedy without that stupid canned laughter that is cranked on every single line on all the other comedy shows like Becker/Home Improvement/Two and a half men. I loved watching "Everybody Hates Chris" on TV with the constant interruption of commericals. NOW I have it DVD's and LOVE IT! "Young Sheldon" and "Modern Family" are also excellent comedy series without that atrocious canned laughter. Canned laughter is an INSULT to my intelligence and I do not waste my precious time watching them. (Friends??? is one of them)

Malcolm in the Middle is hilarious!
I wanted all the series episodes after getting season 1 free. HAD to have them all. Hunted and hunted til I found them and cost was no matter to me. Had to have them. Had to buy a multi region dvd player. (no problem, got it and paid the monies needed to play these dvds). So excited to start watching hours of the wonderful comedy only to find out there is NO 'close captioning'!! This is a fast moving action comedy. It is wonderful. Have to laugh my head off at the lines they deliver. Wonderful acting, BUT because I am hard of hearing. I need 'close captioning'. I need it to be able to catch the fast moving dialog delivered by these wonderful actors. THIS is the only flaw these dvds have. Good quality and for all those others who do not need 'close captioning' it is a wonderful set of DVDs to have in your collections. BUT this is why I gave it a 3 rating. So! Those who need 'close captioning' just beware that you will need to have someone with good hearing who can tell you what they said. Or just don't bother. You have to buy a special DVD player and know there is no 'close captioning'. I paid almost $80 and had to buy a $40 dvd player!! (to me this was well worth it. I love 'Malcolm in the Middle'!!!)
