Not ready to give up this old tech just yet
Currently there are a many more options for 10-12 speed cluster with double ring front. The newer technology might be cheaper and frequently lighter, but for me who absolutely requires this range (if not more) this old technology being more rugged could last quite a lot longer.

Right angle adaptor works well for my application.
Initially worried that this was not low enough profile for my application (a tight fit of a battery in a bag) it seems to work just fine.

Excellent safety equipment
What is truly practical about this mirror is not that it is stable or large enough for full view of traffic behind but that it is so easily adjusted by one hand and that it often tells you enough to keep you safe.
I ride a recumbent so rear visibility is difficult but this kit really helps. Add to this it is very easy to knock mirrors on mount and dismount.
I now ride with two mirrors on the cockpit peering over my left and right shoulders with the right one mostly for that especially dangerous period when I am signaling left and obstructing the left mirror.
