Clean Chimney from the Bottom
I had purchased this before locally and used it to clean my clay lined chimney (9"x12" I think) from the bottom so I didn't need to go up on the roof. It works very well. I entered via the 6" stove pipe about 6 feet off the floor and I have a clean out below it so it worked well. I put a plastic bag around the entrance to contain the mess (caught it once and spun it around a bit). I pushed the brush in and up (90 degrees), spun with the drill and moved up and down at the same time...adding extensions as I worked it up the chimney. Closed off the entry hole and let the dust settle and then just shovelled the creosote out of the clean out hatch (2 buckets worth).
I needed a couple of extension wands to reach the top of my chimney and it was almost the same price to order a whole new kit online, as to buy the extensions locally so I bought the kit again on eBay. It is exactly what I bought locally in store but half the price. I plan to clean my chimney part way through the Winter now since I don't need to go up on the icy roof to do it any more.
