Beeps about every second
Moderately loud at 88db but not ear piercing. I hooked two of them with an on/off switch to the motion detector light switch & light in my back room and use the setup as a separate alarm for the room.

Read good, Write bad
Just like everyone else says, it takes forever to copy files to it because every 10 seconds or so it copies a handful of bits, not bytes. It starts out like you’re copying files to a hard drive, then it slows down like it’s a floppy, then a hard drive, then a floppy. Reading from it though is fast and works great.
