Poorly Made with Weak Side Frame

Not at all happy with this product! It looked wonderful from the photos but does not have an antique look up close. The WORST part is the frame on which the box spring sits. Whoever designed it needs to be fired! The side frames are not one, solid piece, but two that have to be screwed together in the middle. Well, that is where the greatest amount of weight is placed on a bed! I am not a heavy person, but in a couple of weeks I could see the frame beginning to bed downward. I have kids who love to come in my bed, and any other bed would allow the weight. NOT THIS ONE!!! I had to DYI a support for this bed, which I consider a shame. I took two, four-by-fours for legs and put a two-by-four on top of it. Then a attached it under the center, lateral, metal bar with zip ties. Now everyone can pile on the bed with no worries. But, I had to make that adjustment. The ONLY REASON I did not return this item is because I purchased a 12 inch, organic, latex mattress and it is impossible to move without the help of six, strong men! Do NOT buy this frame. Until they make the sides of the frame in solid pieces, you'll have to make supports yourself.
