DAVIS WHALE TAIL XL

Bought it to put on my 40hp Mercury Marine 2 stroke made in the year 2000, motor is on my basstracker pro 175, could not mount on bottom of the cavitation plate as advertized because the whaletail did not have a proper cutout for the TrimTab Anode. There was no info when i bought it stating I would have to remove the anode or I wouldn't have bought it. I mounted whaletail ontop of cavitaion plate, but I think it sticks out 4 inches more then it was designed too. It does get the boat on plane faster and once there Iam able to back off the throttle a "little" and stays on plane. If I could go back in time I would buy one from a different maker, I was counting on this to mount to the underside of the cavitaion plate but didn't work out that way. Just does not look good ontop,, but it does help getting on plane a little faster.
