Very light weight - Doesn't seem sturdy enough for my Fuji X-T2

But, it was a very nice fit for a much lighter camera like my wife's Nikon 1 V2

An American Classic

Mine is a 1970s E Leitz-built model. Some of the later ones have a built in monopod, but this one does not. The brass leg locks function perfectly smooth and solid after a little cleaning and lubrication. Solid as a rock. These legs are superior to almost anything built today. The classic tiltall head is on the other hand, a bit fiddly by today's standards. Even cleaned and lubed, there's a little too much friction in the mechanism for smooth camera movements in video. But for a stills photographer, it's still a fantastic choice. In this photo, I've added Arca-Swiss quick release functionality with an inexpensive adapter and a few arrows to remind me which way the knobs adjust.

A crudely machined precision instrument?

Quality materials, good design, shoddy craftsmanship. After it arrived, I had to knock off a few burrs blocking holes they'd drilled hastily and grind their jagged screw-driver tips, but other than that it seems to do its job well.
