These are always good quality diecasts, worth the small amount extra as they’re so well made and virtually indestructible! Nicely detailed and a good starter for younger kids to get into fine scale models. Like the iconic box design too!

Henry VIII DVD
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Certainly not as slick as the more recent, bigger budget 'The Tudors', and about as historically inaccurate. None the less, if you dont mind thinking Henry VIII had the accent of a Hackney barrow boy, Ray Winstone is likeable/disagreeable enough as the despotic monarch. Helena Bonham Carter as Anne Boleyn is, well, Helena Bonham Carter as in any role she plays. This version of the life (although actually only a very small part of it)of Henry Tudor reads like a Who's Who of 90's British actors, and though there are no particularly strong or memorable performances, they're sound enough. This is reasonably entertaining, but if you're truly interested in history, better refer to David Starkey, and see this a the piece of made for TV loosely factual dramatic fluff it is.

Bobby Friction and Nihal Present
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich I bought this CD on its release in 2004 having become a keen listener to Bobby Friction and Nihal on Radio 1. I leant it to a friend I was determined to convince of the briliance of UK/Asian music, and never got it back (which proves my point perfectly!),so was happy to find this CD on Ebay to replace it. The tracks on the double CD are quite varied in style, to reflect the diversity of UK Asian music. There is garage in all its bootlegged glory, hip hop, chunky Drum and Bass and break beats, Bollywood samples and familiar names such as Panjabi MC and Nitin Sawney, with less known (but equally respected) talents, such as OZ, JKeyz and Kinetics, with my favourite track "Back to my Other Life", which I defy anyone not to move to and be moved by. Members of the Nasha crew (well worth exploring on the amazing Eastern Drum and Breaks vol 1, and especially vol.2) Ges-E and Social Security, who offer darkly D&B "Zubeida", but there are sudden lighthearted lilts of Indian flute and traditional sitar, with urban strains thrown in. Bobby Friction and Nihal (Radio 1, Asian network) have obviously strived to bring a sample of everything to everyone, and with this compilation they succeed. This is a good starting point to further explore the wealth of original, groovy, hardcore, mellow, and downright brilliant Asian influenced music that filters through to the mainstream in a steady and increasingly impressive trickle (Think Britney Spears' Toxic- no matter how much you might wish she'd end up mangled in a combine harvester, you actually secretly loved that track didnt you?- well you've got Rishsi Rish to thank for that.)But instead of waiting for the sanitised mainstream offerings, get to the source and immerse yourself!
