Great product at a great price
These valve cover guards are much less expensive than any competitor’s product, but their design is much better-looking, in my opinion. They are made of resin, with hard rubber cushion pieces inside, and fit the BMW air-cooled engines perfectly. They don’t hide the beautiful factory finish of the engine as much as some, and they expose the rubber spark plug covers. This may be insufficient protection for off-road riding, but is perfect for the street. I painted mine silver with Krylon Fusion spray paint, and they look like they came from the BMW factory. Overall, a very nice product.

Nice quality, but actually a little smaller than 54mm
Although these are described as 54mm, they are actually closer to 53, so if you have, say CVK36 or 40 carbs, which have actual 54mm air inlets, these will not fit.

Looks nice, but erratic over 5000rpm
I used one of these on a 1980 Suzuki GS550, and it reads erratically at high rpms. Hangs at 5000, then might jump to the actual rpm, or it might not.
