Did not meet expectations.
The shelf was far shallower than it appeared on the photo. I purchased it because it appeared deeper, a feature I was finding extremely difficult to procure.

Needs design changes
It keeps rodents mostly out of the chook shed, however if more than one chook is eating there is some spillage.
The treadle surface provides little traction i.e. not textured like some I've seen with checker plate markings, so whilst they got used to the principle of standing on the step I had to stick a thin piece of rubber on it. Observing their feeding now, they seem to hook their front claw around the back edge of the step with good success.
One other concern, wild birds such as ducks learn how to use it, so feed bills go up.
All in all I am glad I bought it and it is a great concept. I would just suggest better texture on the step and made from a slightly heavier metal.

Best thing on kitchen bench
I've always wanted one and it hasn't disappointed.
Normally I have to bang the tamped, used coffee on the edge of my compost tub in the kitchen and it is getting progressively damaged.
