2 Pints Series 1-4

Excellent comedy. Quite rude - but very funny. Obviously it cannot compare with classic TV Comedies - such as Faulty towers or Fools and Horses - but in its own right '2 Pints' really is a superb comedy and a stroke of near genius in its character portrayals. The writer, Susan Nickson, really got this one right - especially considering that she was only 19 when the series started. Shame she had to go on and write 'Grownups' and 'Coming of Age' (currently running) which are really not very good. Nevertheless, as Susan Nickson's (and the actors) '15 Minutes' it really can't be beat (it did lasty seven series after all). This comedy seems to really polarise peoples opinion - touch of Marmite anyone? So if you do not like blatant innuendo, out and out filth and mostly excessive profanity - do not touch with a barge pole. If on the other hand - you're up for a good laugh - you'll love this. Don't bother with Series 7 though - its just not the same without Johnny (Ralph Little) in it. For its type - '2 Pints Series 1-4' can only be beaten by '2 Pints Series 1-6'. Check it out on BBC 3 late night, or on the '2 Pints' website if in doubt.
