For the serious minded.
This is an award-winning book about the nature of consciousness, power, love and hate. Read it with a box of tissues. It's a page turner. Very philosophical. Not for those looking to spend the afternoon in la-la land.

Amazing Intuitions.
This book takes a hard look at the nature of thought and its limitations. The evolutionary purpose of thought is the survival of the species. It is not to find Truth. This book explains how adaptive thought is and how it entertains new cognitions 'as if' they were true and often supplies 'useful fictions' which have served us well in certain respects. Best though to see these useful fictions as working hypotheses, subject to further exploration. I don't understand why this philosophy isn't more read but it is humbling and I suppose most people would rather keep on thinking that their mind is always telling them the Truth.
