Comprehensive
I like the Rough Guides. Everything you need or could want to know . I guess it's not dissimilar to Lonely planet in that respect, but it has the massive virtue of not being the Lonely planet!
Everywhere you go in S.E Asia you see tourists holding their LP and slavishly following it's advice with a religious fervour. No guide book should be used that way and because of the vast numbers using it, any accommodation or restaurants listed no longer have to fight for custom and standards drop.
The R.G is at least as good and you don't feel quite such a cliché using it. Mind the advice regarding individual establishments listed remains the same.

Not the usual 'Greatest Hits'
A really excellent overview of Bowies output.
There are many Greatest Hits collections , but this is a more thoughtful compilation appealing to those who want to hear tracks they may be less familiar with. With a smattering of real rarities , it's a good buy for the avid fan too.
