Procol Harum - The Well's On Fire (CD 2003)
Procol Harum, mention the name and pretty well everyone will say, oh I know....'A Whiter Shade of Pale'.
Well I have been a fan since the 70's and there is a whole lot more to their repertoire than just one song.
This album is the latest I have listened to after recently buying 'Prodigal Stranger' (A very good listen for the discerning person and recommended). It took a little more time to settle in to TWOF but there are some really strong tracks on the album and not all are easy listening.
Procol set the tone with a reflective review of the world's woes in song, wistfully recalling times that were better and lamenting unfairness and inequality in the world today.
The great thing about the songs is they are as relevent today as when first recorded on 2003.
I enjoy the album and would encourage those who have not sampled the delights of Prociol to the full to dip in, listen carefully to the lyrics and melodies, enjoy the guitar, organ and piano combinations and note the off beat drumming which punctuates the music.
Thanks Procol for years of enjoyment.

great piece of kit
This is great for those who can't saw so easily with a standard wood or hacksaw. Plenty of umph.It was larger than I expected but with good blades goes through like a knofe through butter.. I like the fact that the batteries are interchangable so no need to have loads of them

Southwold Railway
We visited Southwold for a recent holiday so it was nice to fine a book on the unusual railway links there. This book satisfied my curiosity and has some fascinating content
