Toyota 4Runner liftgate latch OEM quality, straight forward installation, works great again

The Toyota 4Runner is a durable, reliable vehicle with the exception of the liftgate latch which tends to corrode and bind-up over time. My 2007 4Runner now has a new, OEM quality, liftgate latch that I installed myself in about 1/2 hour. The straight forward, step-by-step installation procedure can be seen on Youtube, After the installation, I had to then disconnect negative battery terminal, wait a few minutes, re-connect negative battery terminal, and operate the driver's door lock three times in succession to get the ECU to recognize the new liftgate latch as part of the vehicle's system. It works perfect again, and I expect it to last another 11 years with regular WD40 spray application to prevent corrosion from forming in the latch mechanism.
