Great book; helps you work hard and actually learn Spanish.
For serious students of Spanish, this is a highly competent and honest presentation of the basics.
The author pulls no punches. She tells you straight out that to learn Spanish you need to learn and practice grammar rules (including memorizing the most common irregular verbs), use vocabulary, view and duplicate word order practices and sentence syntax. She helps you with this every step along the way. This approach works far better than the more common one of mostly learning vocabulary and ready- made phrases. Students who take the tune to learn and practice all the material in this book and the more advanced one by the same author will be ready to move on with confidence and understanding to Spanish instruction books at the true intermediate level.

Great book for school children and beginners. Very helpful and necessary at the level.
Very elementary and basic, for middle and secondary school students or beginner adults but essential and useful. Easy familiarity with the words and expressions here is a necessity for those trying to advance beyond the beginner stage and into the intermediate.
