Amazing history and some surprising facts
A beautifully detailed story on the Christians in Japan. From the Beginnings with Francis Xavier till the end of Today's split of Regular Christians and Kakure / Hidden Christians. Amazing details, fascinating study. Highly recommended to anyone who is both interested in Christianity, and Japanese history!

A good harvard study of the true nature of the Ikko Ikki rebellions
A very well documented study on the Ikko / Jodo Shinshu faith and the Ikki Leagues of the Late Muromachi period.
My only complaint is that it feels too much like a harvard assignment than a reading book, but at least you're safe to say that the text written is taken from real sources.
Highly recommended for people who are studying feudal japan in serious depth.
