A masterpiece by a best loved author
Nevil Shute is a best loved author whose books remain popular years after publication. Although he was British, he fell in love with Australia and wrote several great novels set there of which this is probably the most famous. It is a novel of two parts - party war story (set in SE Asia during the Japanese invasion of WWII) and partly about the Australian outback with its eponymous title (the town is of course Alice Springs). But above all its a love story. Nevil Shute was a rare writer for his time, as he wrote positively about women, and the central character of this story is a woman of great inner strength and empathy. If you have not read this book I urge you to find a copy (maybe on eBay!)

Great beach or bath towel for young children
This is a good quality, soft bath/beach towel. A good size and lovely and soft to the touch (not sure how it will keep this over time). The Peppa Pig picture is great and my grand daughter loved it.
