Nikon too expensive? You betcha...compare it to Sigma!
I purchased this Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 lens to use on my Nikon D200 and never looked back! Not only for the price, but, for the comparable quality! This lens does everything the Nikon lens will do and does it very well. Color rendition is excellent. Contrast is excellent. If there is any abberation, it must be extremely minimal and at the extreme edges of the image circle, as I have yet to notice any. Although, I must admit, I haven't tried to produce any poster sized prints. I have not seen any sign of flare. Autofocus is more than fast enough, and, very quiet. Depth of field is naturally shallow in a long lens, but, be forewarned. When shooting at macro distantances with this lens, depth of field becomes extremely shallow...fractions of an inch at faster aperture settings. Knowing this, use of a tripod, slower shutter speeds, and stopping down the aperture when shooting macro is a must. The only improvement one could ask would be to have image stabilization for handheld shooting at slower shutter speeds...which Sigma does offer in this lens if you can spend a little bit more. And Sigma's price and quality will still beat the pants off of the "big two"!

should read: Hewlett Packard Mini 5102
I bought this to pack along with my camera gear (DSLR system) when I go out and about. I shoot mostly landscape and nature. One of the few advantages of digital photography over film is the capability of proofing the shot whilst on location. I wanted something larger than the LCD on the back of the camera body to proof certain shots to be sure I capture what I'm seeing. And I am not disappointed. I was concerned whether or not this netbook had the power, RAM, and display to run Lightroom 3 (I shoot RAW format only). Again, no disappointments here either. Truth is, this netbook is far exceeding my expectations. Will it suffice to use it for post processing? No, I think not. I have my 'digital darkroom' at home for that purpose. What it does do (and does it very well) is allows me to peruse my photos on a nice size (and sharp) display while out and about, and, with a 160g hard drive, I can offload the images from my CF card to the netbook and keep on clicking away. Yes, I am very pleased with this purchase.

Working on the railroad, pulling the handles on a steam locomotive
Want to know what it's like working on the railroad as the engineer of steam locomotives? If you answered yes, READ THIS BOOK! I found it riveting. I could not put it down until I reached the end. This one is the best I've read!
