Hilarious and excellent history
This is the first book in the Flashman series. They are all enjoyable and remarkably well-researched historical fiction. These books are so funny that they will make you laugh aloud, annoying your friends and family, who will ask "What's so funny?" Of course, the situation is so involved and the humor so subtle that you will have to tell them, "never mind."
Anyway, if you need a break from the 21st century, and can enjoy thoroughly tongue-in-cheek humor, where a cad and coward always gets the girls and the glory, give this a try. I doubt you will be disappointed.

Hilarious Australian Classic

An Australian gem that blends "A Christmas Story," "It's a Wonderful Life" and Monty Python. (Think about that!) It starts out slow, but picks up momentum and delivers lots of laughs and a great message about justice and the common man. The amazing thing is that you will want to watch it again and again, and it gets funnier every time.
Great for the family (if you don't mind a bit of rough language). Beware: there are dozens of lines that you and your family will quote incessantly.
Simply priceless.
