Excellent Product
Took a chance with this product and I must say that so far, I am pleasantly pleased with its performance thus far!! Purchased this product to replace a skimmer cover made by Aquaduct that we have had for years for years. The Aquaduct is design reminds me of Tupperware, and believe me, just as pricey as Tupperware products as well. But I must say, there is not a large variety of these skimmer plugs on the market, especially for older model pools. At this point, I am completely satisfied with the Simpooltech Rovaseal that we purchased. Fits our older model pool skimmer perfectly and appears to be of very good construction. Only time will tell on how many seasons it will hold up for but at the price we paid for it in comparison to the Aquaduct; if we get 5 seasons out of it, I will be a happy camper!!! I have a good feeling that this product, as I compare it to our previous model (Aquaduct), will last us many years to come and this is my belief as to why. The eventual demise of our old skimmer plug was that the plastic material that it was made with eventually weathered and cracked which lead to an inability to obtain a proper seal. The Simpooltech Rovaseal appears to use a vinyl type material as the base plate and some type of thermo-insulated material attached to the vinyl plate that fits snuggly into the body of your skimmer housing. The Thermal insulated material appears to be capable of expanding and contracting with the various outside temperatures without effecting the overall seal within the skimmer body. Now I'm no engineer, but it just makes sense to me that this would prolong the life of the skimmer plug and the ability for the plug to maintain an effective seal much longer then the other brands on the market. In conclusion, I am very satisfied with this product and glad to see that to see that there is another quality designed product (Simpooltech skimmer plugs) on the market that is not extremely over-priced like the Aquaduct!!
