A Mech Series that is Different
Yes it has giant mechs in it and yes there is giant mech battles, but surprisingly they are not the main stay attractions: the characters take the forefront this time around. Once you get past the whole "robots surfing in the sky" wonder bit the show takes pains to make it clear that the stars are its characters and not the robot battles. Renton is your typical 13 year old protagonist who starts off really annoying but grows into a better and more mature person through the many obstacles he faces on his journey. Eureka herself is basically emotionless until she met Renton and she grew out of her archetype as the badass/emotionless robot into a young woman like everyone else. Its obvious with my previous statements that the shows main attractions is the cast's journey of growing up, each with their set of problems and emotional baggage to overcome. If you want bombastic mind blowing mech battles in every episode than you will be disappointed, I would try some Gundam show or Gurren Lagann not this one. If you wanted more out of your typical cast of characters in a mech show, than look no further!

Violence and Harsh Cruelty is Best Served Aged
What can I say about Berserk that fans of anime do not know? The world that the cast of Berserk thrive in is violent, harsh, and more often than not cruel to its inhabitants. Guts, the main character, is definitely a "man among men". Dealt a bad hand in life since he was born, he had a rough and emotionally scarring upbringing that made him strong and unyielding, and yet also angry and bitter. This anime follows the trials and tribulations of Guts in his time with the mercenary band Hawks and his friendship with the leader Griffith years before the events shown in episode 1. His life is cruel and unforgiving, and yet it is definitely fascinating to behold. Unfortunately the ending of the anime is a cliffhanger that pretty much states "if you want to know more, read the manga". Though this anime is old by today's standards, it is definitely one of the few treasures of anime that should be preserved and praised alongside gems like Cowboy Bebop and Trigun.

REGION B
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Nothing bad to say about the show but it must be known that this set’s item description is mistaken. Despite the item description saying it is REGION A, in truth it is REGION B. So if you don’t have a region free/ region B blu ray player you’re out of luck. Take care opening the set since it’s just flimsy card stock.
