Why I brought the movie
I brought the 1987 NBC TV-movie because it's a good sentimental movie and it's not available on DVD's. It's a combination of 'A Christmas Carol' and the TV-movie 'The Gathering', in which a lady wants to see her grandchildren for a possible final Christmas while battling with her Scroogelike son who hates her giving out her time and money to the homeless. Though it's sappy and predictable, it does leave the viewer to what Christmas is all about. The only thing I didn't like about it is the editing; where the sketch drawings, that were used in indicate that a commercial break was coming, were cut out and merged with the next segment of the movie. Despite those omissions, I'm glad I found and brought it.

Sharp VCR
I bought the VCR because the heads off the old one went back and there's no repair shop anywhere that would fix it because VCR's are becoming extinct. The bought VCR is working great.

Why I brought the movie
I brought this movie because I hope it was the same movie that I saw as a kid. However, it turns out that I brought the original theatrical movie that was shown in 1951 and was used when the film was colorized. The only difference between this movie and the one that I saw on TV is that after Scrooge ran scared to bed and the movie faded to black, the next scene showed Scrooge's bedroom with the outside bells ringing and then the clang of the bell tolling one o'clock. In this version, the outside bells don't ring out. Despite that omission, I'm still glad I brought it.
