An absolute gem!
Their 15th album has a fresh style! 'Old school' lounge-style arrangements, the addition of wind instuments (you name it: clarinet, saxophones, trumpet, trombone, flute...) plus upright bass and clean percussion give the whole album a fun attitude. The lyrics are well written and far more whimsical than I normally would attribute to Over The Rhine. Karin Bergquist's voice is at her absolute best throughout, showing every vulnerability and strength both emotionally and technically. Love it! Highly recommend.

Definitely the mellower side of Over The Rhine
I love Karin Bergquist's voice, but this is a gentler side of Over The Rhine. Each of their albums show a variety of musical styles, but this one is pretty much all the slower sit-back-with-a-glass-of-wine-type songs. If you loved "Films For Radio", full of lively tempos, you may not care for this one. A little too blah for me.

Not Cornell's Best Work
The songs in this collection are fairly lackluster and somewhat cliche. Maybe it seemed better in '91, but Chris Cornell sure has come a long way since this endeavor both in songwriting and performance. It states on the album it was done sort of spontaneously as a tribute, unfortunately, I think it shows. Before I bought this CD, everyone advertised vocals by Eddie Vedder but other than the song "Hunger Strike" (written by Cornell), he's not a noticeable contributor. Nice to hear some early Chris Cornell, but nothing worth leaving in the CD carousel in my opinion.
