Looking forward to a look back at Sherlock Holmes and his era
Content of this Annotated Sherlock Holmes is to me, more interesting than the modern annotation. This version gives a fuller flavor of Victorian times, and is illustrated with articles about the modes of transportation and the fashions of the times. Fun reading.

It's Dandy!
I am only a few pages into Chapter 1. I love a writer who has me laughing over cook's mousse as being "gelatinous filth."
Great British "cozy" where saddle of mutton, the household servants at the manor house, the laying of the wreath for November 11th, and the new Women's Rural Institute transport the reader back in time.
Very pleased to have gotten this book off eBay--local library does not carry maybe one half of the titles in this Dandy Gilver aristocratic detective series set in the 1920s and 30s.

Homage to Weird Al
Daniel Radcliffe does a fine job portraying Weird Al through some of his best parody songs. It's a real treat for the Weird Al fan, including a range of music that makes for great listening. Songs include Amish Paradise, Like A Surgeon, Another One Rides the Bus. All those wonderfully funny lyrics that put a spin on some of the most popular songs of our times.
