Excited about this book, looks like some...
Excited about this book, looks like something was spilled on it, but I wiped it off and it is good as new!!!

A must have for any drummer.
I met Zoro at a musician conference this past year, and was amazed at his ability on the kit. He also was fairly articulate in describing some of his technique, and so when I saw his book I took the chance. The book is an amazing collection of american rhythmic history! IT begins with Soul, and walks through all of the major cities, artists, styles and rhythms of the genre. At the end of the section he transcribes a healthy handful of drum beats that will help you learn to play the great soul beats. He also outlines a listening list, for those unfamiliar with the syle. He goes on to cover funk and hip hop, and then mentions how R & B drumming is a combination of these three. While I do not think he will be winning any language arts awards for his writing skills...the Compton, L.A. native did learn to use a computer while writing this book (which is amazing) and with that in mind his writing is great! Pick it up, it is a cool read with great exercises, and an amazing reference tool.

The Missions Book
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich So this is pretty much the book to read about missions. It goes into great detail on the critical detail in missions work that God is already at work in everyone. General revelation. Don tells stories, that he has experienced and researched, that tell of God's surprisingly specif general revelation amoung remote people groups unaware of the Bible, or the story of Jesus. His stories are amazing, and his insights into missions very strong. His writing skill is ok.
