iPod Photo Saved My Life!!
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Okay, so maybe it wasn't really a matter of life or death... but when you're in a pinch and you need something, this li'l iPod came through with flying colors!
I work as a photographer, which is the reason I purchased the iPod Photo. I also bought the Apple iPod Camera Connector. I had a 1Gb card I was shooting with and I was shooting in RAW format. When I went to shoot the next photo, my camera told me "Card Full". I was working with a family with a new baby, so my time was limited in how long he'd be still. Then up steps the iPod Photo. You just put in the camera connector, connect using your existing cable and the iPod prompts you to transfer the photos...! Yes, Billy... it IS that simple!
Like any iPod owner, mine is a treasure-trove of ecclectic tastes... obscure James Brown live recordings and Tower of Power horns to Christina Aguilera, Rick Braun and Luis Miguel. And all of it fits with room to spare!! What's nice is that if you have obscure recordings and they happen to be in the iTunes database, up pops the album cover when a song from that CD plays. Add other little tidbits like Now Up-To-Date's iPod plugin and your calendar goes with you.
Having grown up in the era of reel-to-reel home decks and eight track tapes, I'm totally jazzed that we have MP3 technology! Because if we didn't, we'd never have the iPod!
Get one. I highly recommend it. Don't settle for cheap imitations... there is only one iPod.

Movie Magic Made More Magical!
If you know this film, then you'd understand the beauty of the soundtrack. But it's the liner notes... director Bonnie Hunt's thoughts on the music... that elevate the movie-watching experience! The reason the soundtrack is so good, is because she chose music that reminded her of her Dad and Mom growing up. And if you scan the credits at the end of the movie, you'll see that she included a lot of her family members as minor characters and background actors.

iPod... FANTASTIC!

I upgraded from a 4G Photo iPod due to logic board issues and was reluctant to go 5.5G or Classic because of live recording capabilities. Not an issue, really, as there are microphones available that'll do the job. But if you've spent money on accessories for your older models, try to find a replacement.
That being said, the 5.5G is FANTASTIC! I'm not much of a video watcher, so downloading videos and movies to my iPod isn't a necessity. But I do have tons of Photoshop/Lightroom podcasts that are ideal for viewing or listening to on the road. And with a simple dock with S-Video or RCA video output, you can plug it into any available TV set with matching inputs. THE QUALITY SURPRISED ME!! Most down-scaled video is trashy and pixelated. But with Apple's compression the video is much better than one would expect.
The standard extras, like importing notes, calendar, timers are all great. But a new one I wasn't aware of was the stopwatch. I give a lot of public talks, and it's great to have a timer that all I have to do is activate and go! I tell you, if this had voice recognition software I'd be set for life!
If you can find a good bargain (as I did for a pre-owned model), then by all means purchase it! Read the feedback though, and as always... buyer beware!
