More comfortable and convenient than Chest Strap
Long time Heart Rate runner. Have always used a chest strap. Wanted to try something different because:
1. Chest strap batteries die,
2. Chest straps feel constricting and can chafe, and
3. They can give wildly false readings due to static from clothing, running under power lines, etc.
This wrist based strap
1. is rechargeable,
2. is much more comfortable than the chest strap (although you DO need to wear it pretty tightly, you really don't notice anything if you wear it next to your watch, because, well, it just feels like you are wearing a watch!), and
3. Has been much more consistent, due to light-based readings instead of electronic monitoring. (Caveat: I had to figure out how to wear this. I assumed I would want to wear it under my wrist, but it actually works MUCH better wearing on top of my wrist. It is important to center the sensor on the wrist and to keep it fairly tight, but once I figured that out, it has functioned flawlessly.)
Uses ANT, so communicates perfectly with my Garmin 220 and 520.

Excellent Paddle at a discount price
The Talon Paddle has excellent grip and speed. This is a $60-70 paddle that is offered at a huge discount because of damaged packaging. The paddle itself was unaffected; 100% perfect working condition, both cosmetically and functionally.
