Lovely Artisanal Leathercraft from India

The bag is expertly assembled. The leather is surprisingly supple; the brass hardware is attractive and sturdy, and there are cleverly hidden snaps for quick accessibility. The canvas-lined interior separators are topped with attractive piping, and a zippered pocket adds to the satchel's versatility. There is a distinct, lingering scent from the finishing/curing, but it fades, especially with some additional treatment (I applied a gentle mixture of white vinegar, with almond and eucalyptus essential oils). Also be aware of the dimensions of your electronics and various airline size limitations before you order. This is definitely the work of dedicated craftspeople. There is no laser-cutting involved here, but any rough edges merely accentuate the handmade charm. Compare prices for similar, name-brand product in the U.S. and prepare to be amused. Under scrutiny, will it appear you just returned from Saks or Harrods? Maybe not, but it will suggest that you're a discriminating world traveller with an appreciation for artisanal leatherwork. I have three different bags from "handicraftganesha" and my only regret is they don't offer a similar leather jacket. Not yet. Recommended.
