    The Sound of Cold Country Life
    The Assassination of Jesse James score by Nick Cave is an album that seems to take the listener back in time to 1800's Missouri, almost as if placed into the movie itself. The use of violins, chellos, and chimes creates a rather dreary yet natural sound that goes right in line with the visuals and feeling of the movie while still standing well on it's own as an listening album. It is rare for a score to be interesting time and time again. Two of the tracks I was not too fond of; the tracks with guitar. But overall, this album is a must have for someone that either enjoyed the feeling of the movie or simply enjoys orchestral music.

    The Sleepy Jackson, "Lovers" - an entrancing album from Down Unde
    "Lovers" has a very unique fusion of several genres ranging from country to indy-pop, creating a dreamlike atmosphere which is catchy yet somewhat sad at times. I bought the album in hopes to further enjoy Luke Steele's work after becoming entranced by Empire of the Sun (Luke's most recent project). The album seems split about 50/50 from the catchy songs which you will find yourself playing over and over, and the other somewhat "filler" songs which you probably won't listen to more than once. Still, the tracks which are well known (most of which have videos) make this album well worth adding to your collection, if you can find it in the states that is!

    There Will Be Blood Soundtrack by Jonny Greenwood
    This soundtrack is a marvelous work of stringed instruments and piano, very open, vast and full of feeling. Some of the songs, like "Future Marks" exemplify the tainted mind of Daniel Plainview throughout the movie as he is driven more and more insane by the pursuit of oil. A powerful album that will be well-appreciated by orchestral music fans and most any fan of classical music.
