Stack-On QAS-1514 Quick Access Single Gun Safe with Electronic Lock

Overall good safe but with one issue

I would have ranked this safe higher, but when I received the safe and installed the batteries, it wouldn't open using the combination. I had to open it with the key. I couldn't understand it because with the door open the electronic combination lock functioned perfectly. With the door closed it would not. I discovered the problem was the hinge on the door was not mounted securely. The pop-rivets that hold the door hinge to the box had either worked loose or were never tight from the factory? Anyway I had to remove the center rivet and replace it with a stove bolt that could be cinched tight. This required drilling a hole for the bolt. It was not too difficult to remedy the problem, but required some thought and mechanical skill. The manufacturer should improve the door mounting hardware. Except for this flaw in design, the safe is well built and with my modification it now functions as it should. With this issue I feel the safe is priced too high.

A worthwhile upgrade

Just what I needed to get the old snowblower up and running again. Very easy to install. Excellent upgrade for older engines.

Looks good, nice coloring.

The light color was just right for my situation. The material seems like it will last in the weather. Easy to mount on the tree with small screws. Very pleased with this design.
