Kept my interest
I'm no military person, but I do appreciate very much what our military personnel have and will go through. The writing in this book is well done and has kept me, a 70-year-old grandmother, interested in what comes next. This is probably the only military play-by-play story I've ever read. It relays some of the thinking that our military leaders go through in the heat of battle. Thus, it heightens my appreciation for our military and the job they must do. The lighter moments make it easier to read through the serious scenes; I'm glad the author included those moments.

Comprehensive
Ms. Skloot covers all angles of this amazing story. She tells Henrietta's story with heart for her and her circumstances. She unfolds the years of using the Henrietta's cells in the medical/science community, with much space given to the ethics of what was done. Very comprehensive writing. It's a story worth knowing, because it has and will affect all our lives in one way or another. sometimes the details of the science became more than I could totally comprehend, but I stayed very interested in this story.
