No-frills Midi controller with Midi output and decent key response
This is my second one, the first was lost in a flood (long story!). It's a no-frills Midi controller with USB and, that's more important to me, Midi connections. I don't trust USB connections, the latency issues can be discouraging; it's fine for powering the device, though.
I tried a lot of affordable Midi controllers and most have a key action that's uncomfortable, to say the least. The 61es has the best key response I've experienced - it's by no means "piano like" but I got used to the response pretty quickly.
Pushing Midi events over this controller is not really easy, but that's now what I'm using it for - use Cubase or Reaper, download some decent piano VSTs and you have a lot to work with.
4 out of 5? It could be a little more flexible in terms of drums, arbitrary Midi events, and the keys are, well, a little small and (as I said) a matter of getting used to. But concerning the money (170$ new, around 100$ refurbished) I don't think you can really complain!

Works!
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I was looking for a replacement bridge for my Squier VM Jazz 5 for a while. I picked this mainly because it came with a schematic that I could check before buying. It fits perfectly, a huge piece of metal, bass is better balanced but heavier. Tone has some more sustain and "tightness." Watch out for the "retrofits Squier" label - there are two different models!
