Superb drive

I was astonished the drive I received only had 88 hours on it and 1.22 terabytes of total data transfer. That said, this drive is superb. I was able to deploy a PBA and set up Opal 2 security within 5-10 minutes. This replaced my non-FIPS 140-2 ST500LM023 SED. Great speed on this drive, it's quiet and came with perfect SMART results.

Perfect for older laptops

I picked this up to use as a secondary drive on my spare Dell Latitude D830 and couldn't be happier. I've always had great luck with Seagate and this plugged right into my modular bay housing as a secondary drive and was recognized without any issues. SMART results were perfect, drive is an authentic Seagate product and is surprisingly fast considering its older PATA connection. It works great as either a backup drive for the main OS (Windows 7 64-bit on my D830), or as a dual-boot hard drive.

Fantastic

FIPS 140-2 self-encrypting drive with perfect SMART results and was set up with Opal 2 security on a spare laptop of mine in 5 minutes. Like all Seagate's SEDs, it's a superb drive, and this price makes it a no-brainer.
