Useful as a part, dangerous to use as shipped

There is literally no protection circuitry inside this unit. B+ and B- wired directly to the top terminals. As this item is shipped, it is not suitable for use. The recommended use for this would be to buy this along with a 5S 30A protection pcb and wire it up inside the unit. Unlike the genuine unit, this one connects all the terminals on the lithium battery allowing a real BMS to be installed. A real BMS will protect the battery, but will NOT protect against sticking the adapter on the charger. A real BMS will also not drain the battery overnight like the genuine Dewalt adapter does.
