These make a big difference
I bought the ear plugs with a bit of scepticism but I was surprised how well they block out the wind noise from my open face helmet, I can still clearly hear my in helmet intercom though, when not wearing them the difference is very obvious. I would say the only dislike I have is the tabs for removing them are a bit on the small side, perhaps a small cord attached would work better, if they are inserted into the ear correctly they don't give the feeling of blocked ears that you get from industrial ear plugs. I recommend them.
