Isn't owning a candy factory every child's dream?

We love author James Stevenson. This story tells about a child who dreams of owning a candy factory. He would ask all of his friends what their favorite candy is and when their birthday is. On each friend's birthday, he would bring them to his factory and load a huge cart with their favorite candy. After all of his friends had gotten their candy, this generous little boy would invite "all the children in the world" to his candy factory--"if I owned a candy factory."

Good text to familiarize novice to basic music 'rules'

This is a good text to give a basic music background to someone who has had no experience even the most basic knowledge of music. A recorder is used to teach how to play simple melodies and as an example of an instrument that can be used in the classroom to introduce a melody. The text then presents the multitude of ways music can be used in the classroom: to teach basics, make up tunes to use to teach 'rules' of grammar, math facts, the alphabet, the rules of the classroom. . .Music played in the background can set the tone of the class period and be calming or invigorating depending upon the activity.

A favorite

This book has been a favorite in our parochial school library for years. It has been read so much that we had to replace it. After several months of searching, we finally were able to purchase this book for the new school year. This is a timeless story that still appeals to children in 2006.
